GRIEFSHARE -- GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP
Paula Radke and Ryan Burkhart will be leading a grief support group called GriefShare that will begin Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 6:30-8:30 PM at Mount Olive Baptist Church 6080 S. Avenue Cherokee, Iowa 51012. This will occur every Tuesday for the next 13 weeks. All are welcome and if you can't make it for the first one on Tuesday, October 4, you can start at a later date. GriefShare is a 13-week support group for people grieving the death of a loved one. This can be a recent loss or perhaps one that happened years ago. GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences. You don't have to go through the grieving process alone. HOPE AND HEALING GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP:
The Summit Evangelical Free Church in Alta, Iowa, is offering the “Hope and Healing” Grief Support Group beginning Thursday, October 6 through November 10, 2022 @ 6:30 PM at the church, located at 1000 S. Main Street in Alta. This six-week grief support group is open to anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one, friend or significant person in their life. The group will be facilitated by Pastor Brad Smith and his wife, Joy. The Smith’s have over 30 years of experience in conducting this grief support group in providing a setting for people to both give and receive support and encouragement as they progress through this healing process. There is no cost to participate in the group but it’d be helpful to please call the church at 712-200-2200 to register for the class so adequate materials will be available.

The site’s founder, Tom Golden LCSW, has provided book excerpts and contact information to help those healing from loss.

The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) website contains a Grief & Loss section with grief-related articles and information.
The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s website provides a host of information and resources for people facing a life-limiting illness or injury and their caregivers.
