LuVerne M. Danielson, age 96, of Albert City, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Pleasant View Home in Albert City.

Services for Mrs. Danielson will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Evangelical Covenant Church in Albert City, with Pastor Gavin Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery at Albert City. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call on Monday, April 28, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City, where the family will be present.

LuVerne May Hammer was born May 8, 1911 in rural Pocahontas, Iowa, the daughter of Lewis and Mary (Westmoreland) Hammer. She was baptized in 1914 at Varina, Iowa. LuVerne received her education in the Varina school, graduating from Varina High School with the Class of 1930.

On February 26, 1932, LuVerne was united in marriage to Vernon W. Danielson in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The couple was blessed with three children: Nancy, Donald and Lloyd.

LuVerne enjoyed the company of many people and she had many interests. She loved her Lord and was an active, faithful member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Albert City, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Covenant Women. She belonged to Happy Hour Club, Community Club and Senior Citizens, all in Albert City. She enjoyed being outdoors, where she could often be found working in her flower or vegetable gardens or keeping her lawn mown and tidy. LuVerne enjoyed a good game of 500 and was always ready to go traveling. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist and violinist. Family and friends were always welcome in LuVerne’s home, where she enjoyed cooking for anyone who needed feeding. Her family was her treasure and she loved them all dearly. Her kind and caring ways will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Nancy Nunn of Marquette, Nebraska; son Lloyd (Diane) Danielson of Albert City; grandchildren: Jean (Mark) Krom of Moreno Valley, California; Don (Beth) Meyer of Grand Island, Nebraska; Jim Meyer of Cheney, Kansas; Steven Nunn of Marquette, Nebraska; David (Merci) Danielson of Midland, Michigan; Cynthia (Ray) Crompton of Greensboro, North Carolina; and Carmen (John) Micklus of Chicago, Illinois; great-grandchildren: Stephanie Krom; Josh and Kaylee Meyer; Nicole, Spencer, Kendra and Jaden Nunn; Noah, Elia, Joshua and Grace Danielson; and Max, Sam and Sophia Crompton; brothers: Lewis (Jeri) Hammer and Herbert Hammer, both of Pocahontas, Iowa; sisters: Mary Lou (Norman) Johnson of Pocahontas and Laurabelle McConnell of Riverside, California; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

LuVerne was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Mary Hammer; her infant son, Donald; her husband, Vernon Danielson; three brothers: Walter, Mervin and Harry; and two sisters, Dorothy Olson and Bessie Zemke.
