Valerie J. Tesch

Valerie J. Tesch, age 67, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, died November 8, 2025 at Spencer Hospital in Spencer, Iowa.

Memorial services will take place Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in STORM LAKE. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.

Valerie was born February 26, 1958 to Paul and Delores (Rolfe) Meleney at Neubrucke US Army Hospital, Germany. She attended school in Storm Lake, Iowa and graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1976.

In 1977, Valerie was united in marriage to Patrick Jones. To this union, four children were born: Nicole, Matthew, Amanda, and Andrew. On December 12, 1993, Valerie was united in marriage to Kelvin Tesch in Le Mars, Iowa.

Valerie worked for Wells Blue Bunny until her retirement in 2020. In her free time, she enjoyed reading books, watching football and working on the occasional DIY project. Valerie’s pride and joy were her grandchildren and she treasured her time with them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Valerie is survived by her husband: Kelvin Tesch of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; children: Nicole (Michael) Woods of Sioux City, Iowa; Matthew (Brittany Maeyaert) Jones of Milford, Iowa; Amanda (Benito) Chavez of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; Andrew (Karina) Jones of Alta, Iowa; brothers: Mark (Sarah) Meleney of Tallahassee, Florida; Michael (Barbara) Meleney of Durham, North Carolina; sister: Victoria (James) Wilson of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren: Brooklynn, Michael, and Madison Woods of Sioux City, Iowa; Raul and Isari Mellado of Alta, Iowa; extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Meleney and Delores Gleason, and brother, John Thomas Meleney.
