Teresa Ethel (Blomgren) Gebauer

Teresa Gebauer, age 69, of Albert City, Iowa passed away peacefully September 19, 2024 at Methodist Manor in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with Memorial Service at 11:45 a.m. at the Methodist Manor Chapel in Storm Lake. The family encourages attendees to wear their favorite Iowa Hawkeyes, Minnesota Twins, Green Bay Packers or YA Cardinals gear in honor of Teresa's love for the teams. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.

Teresa Ethel (Blomgren) Gebauer was born January 8, 1955 to Irvin and Mildred (Anderson) Blomgren in Storm Lake, Iowa. She attended Albert City-Truesdale School, graduating in 1973. Teresa went on to graduate from Morningside College in 1978.

Teresa was a dog lover, and her fur babies were her absolute everything. She was the biggest fan of the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Twins, Iowa Hawkeyes, the Young America Cardinals and Garth Brooks. Teresa enjoyed traveling, taking a special trip to Sweden to meet relatives and friends. She also traveled solo to Australia. She made annual trips to Minneapolis to spend time with her cousins, going to the farmer’s market, shopping for orchids and enjoying so many other great things the Twin Cities had to offer. During these trips, she especially looked forward to spending time with her beloved niece, Dawn and her family, attending Minnesota Twins games, watching her great-nephew play baseball for the Young America Cardinals, and relaxing at their place on the lake and their home up north.

Teresa loved working at Casey’s. During her 28 years of service, coworkers and customers became friends and were like family to her. In her free time, Teresa enjoyed reading books and was an extremely gifted and prize-winning counted-cross stitcher. Teresa was a dear friend to an endless number of people and puppies.

Left to cherish Teresa include her niece: Dawn (Scott) Logelin of Waconia, Minnesota; great-nephew: Blake (Kahner) Pistulka of Waconia, Minnesota; Payton Pistulka of Chaska, Minnesota; many other friends, family and furry tail waggers.

She was preceded in death by her father: Irvin (Baxter) Blomgren; mother: Mildred (Anderson) Blomgren; spouse: William Gebauer III; brother: Colin Blomgren; sister-in-law: Beth (Rudy) Blomgren; and nephew: Kelly Blomgren.
