Suellen Mae (Cheevers) Urban

Suellen Mae (Cheevers) Urban, age 79, of Cherokee, Iowa died Monday, September 2, 2024 at her residence. 

Memorial services will take place Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in SIOUX RAPIDS. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.

Suellen Urban was born September 30, 1944 to Howard and Pearl (Faust) Cheevers. She attended school, graduating in 1975.

Suellen was united in marriage to Wendell on September 27, 1964 in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. To this union, six children were born: Teddy Lee, Wendellen, Samantha, Shelly, Sarah, and Holly.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge. In her free time, Suellen enjoyed cooking, arts, and crafts. She loved fishing and being outside. More than anything, Suellen treasured time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children: Teddy Lee Urban; Wendellen Fay Urban; Samantha (Bob) Kay Shannon; Shelly Jo (John) Lenz; Sarah Jane Urban; Holly Jean Urban (LeeRoy Galicia); siblings: Larry Cheevers; Gary Cheevers; Bernard Cheevers; Douglas Cheevers; Kelly (Mike) Meusburger; Conrad Cheevers; Howard Cheevers; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband: Wendell Urban; parents: Howard E. and Pearl Cheevers; son: Ted Urban; sister: Kelly Meusburger; brothers: Conrad Cheevers; Douglas Cheevers; and Gary Cheevers.
