Steven Waggoner

Steven C. Waggoner, age 73, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa died April 25, 2022 at his home in Sioux Rapids. 

A Celebration of Life with potluck will take place Sunday, May 29, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Gabrielson Park in Sioux Rapids. No cards, just memories of Steven. Military services will follow after the luncheon. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements. 

Steven Craig Waggoner was born August 6, 1948 to Robert and Mary Arline (Spitzer) Waggoner in Iowa. Growing up, he attended school at Sioux Rapids and graduated in 1966. In 1968, Steven entered the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War until his discharge in 1970.

Steven was a true outdoorsman. You could find him hunting and fishing in his free time. After his retirement, he spent his time kayaking the Little Sioux River. He enjoyed collecting artifacts, elk horns and bison horns. Steven will be dearly missed by all knew and loved him.

He is survived by his niece: Shannon (Todd) Goettsch of Washta, Iowa; great-nieces: Olivia Goettsch of Washta, Iowa; Taylor (Tucker) Zahnley of Correctionville, Iowa; Addisyn Goettsch of Washta, Iowa; Alaina Goettsch of Washta, Iowa; great-nephew: Trey (Emma) Goettsch of Cushing, Iowa; great-great-nieces: Maeve Zahnley of Correctionville, Iowa; Sloane Goettsch of Cushing, Iowa; sister-in-law: Diane Waggoner of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; extended family and friends.

Steven is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Arline (Spitzer) Waggoner, and brother, Scott Waggoner.
