Sharon Patten

Sharon M. Patten, age 78, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa died November 25, 2021 at her home in Sioux Rapids. 

Celebration of Life will take place Friday, December 3, 2021 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery at a later date. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements. 

Sharon Mae Huffman was born on May 29, 1943, the daughter of David and Ruth (Eaton) Huffman in Dickens, Iowa. She attended grade school in Cornell, Iowa and high school in Sioux Rapids, graduating with the class of 1961.

On March 11 ,1961, Sharon was united in marriage to Donald Patten in Storm Lake.  This union was blessed with three children: Deb, Dennis and Dale.

Over the years, Sharon farmed alongside her husband. They took great pride in their farming operation. Additionally, she enjoyed camping with friends and family. More than anything, Sharon loved and adored spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish Sharon’s memory include: her husband, Donald of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; children: Deb Patten (Lynn Prunty) of Sioux Rapids and Dale (Steph) Patten of Sioux Rapids; grandchildren: Chad, Sharon, Donald, Sunny, Dustin, Jeremiah, Alec, Bailee and Adam; great -grandchildren: Cooper, Tucker, Riggs and Lynnlee; brother, Lonnie (Linda) Huffman of Missouri; sisters: Lois Patten of Sioux Rapids; and Fran Noll  of Emmetsburg, Iowa; sister-in-law, Iona “Dolly” Huffman of Sioux Rapids; extended family and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Ruth Huffman; her son, Dennis Patten; her great-grandson, J.R. (Joseph Robert); brothers: Darwin, Louie and Wes; and various In-laws: Roy and Cleo Patten, Kenny Patten, and Mary Patten.
