Robert Vesgaard, age 41, of Aurelia, Iowa, died on Sunday, August 24, 2014, at his home in Aurelia.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Robert Vesgaard, the son of Dennis and Alice (Larson) Vesgaard was born in Cherokee, Iowa, on December 19, 1972. He spent his youth in the Aurelia community and graduated from the Aurelia High School. Robert continued his education at the Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, studying auto mechanics.

During his lifetime, Robert had been employed at the recycling center in Storm Lake, Iowa. He was also a business entrepreneur, buying and selling all types of collectibles. Those who knew him will always remember him as an avid NASCAR fan.

Robert is lovingly remembered by his mother and her husband, Alice and Marc Nelson of Cherokee, Iowa; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis.
