Richard K. Stone, age 60, of Early, Iowa, died on Sunday, August 17, 2014, at the Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014, from 1:30 to 3:30 PM at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Sliefert Funeral Home of Storm Lake is in charge of arrangements.

Richard “Rocky” Keith Stone, the son of Keith and Jean (Carpenter) Stone, was born in Storm Lake, Iowa, on August 7, 1954. He lived his youth in the Storm Lake community and attended Storm Lake High School.

Following his education, Rocky moved to California where he was a foreman for a construction crew. He then enjoyed traveling and working throughout the United States. Rocky especially enjoyed the mountains of Colorado. He returned to this area in 1989 and met his special friend, Trish Snyder. They have made their home together and shared their lives for the past 12 years.

Rocky is described as an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, camping, hunting, and his special passion for fishing.

Rocky is lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him which include his significant other: Patricia “Trish” Snyder of Early, Iowa; sisters: Darlene Lara of Storm Lake, Iowa; Lori Siefkin of Cherokee, Iowa; Brenda Funck of Webb, Iowa; Deb Lanus of Peterson, Iowa; and Patricia Stone of Early, Iowa; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Ronald and Dennis; nephew, Jeffrey; and great-niece, Ariel.
