Regan Hauschen, age 71, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa died on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, Iowa.
Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids. Memorials may be given to the Hauschen family. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.
Gerald Regan Hauschen was born September 29, 1949 in Emmetsburg, Iowa the son of Roy and Jo (Faust) Hauschen.
Growing up, he attended school in Emmetsburg and Storm Lake.
On December 29, 1967 Regan enlisted in the United State Army where he proudly served his county until his honorable discharge on March 7, 1968.
Regan was united in marriage to Cinda Winebrinner and the couple had three children: Shane, Daniel, and Tanya. The couple later divorced. He then had a daughter, Heather Nixon.
On March 19, 1985, Regan was united in marriage to Carolyn Ensley in Sioux Rapids. Regan welcomed Kris, Ricky, and Kelly into his family. Regan and Carolyn were also blessed with one daughter, Amber.
In his spare time, Regan enjoyed coon hunting, fishing and trapping. He enjoyed collecting scrap iron and raising rabbits. Regan loved coon dogs and going on hunts where he would sell or trade his furs. He also loved taking his grandkids hunting. “One more beer, please” was a common phrase heard from Regan. Regan loved his family and treasured the time he was able to spend with them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carolyn “Kaye” (Ensley) Hauschen of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; children: Shane Hauschen of Custer, South Dakota; Tanya (Greg) Gaer of Irwin, Iowa; Daniel (Brooke) Eckstrom of Gillet, Wyoming; Amber Hauschen Vazquez of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; stepchildren: Kris (Garrett) Noll of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; Ricky Flockhart of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; and Kelly Flockhart of Spencer, Iowa; grandchildren: Ryan, Jessica, and Daniel; Grace, Grant, Chantelle, Bradley; Christian, Isabella, Kensley; step-grandchildren;: Courtney, Sheena, Hunter, Chase, and Ty; many great grandchildren; sisters: June Manwarren of Emmetsburg, Iowa; Joan Firkens of Emmetsburg; Bernice Lillgard of Georgia; extended family and friends.
Regan was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; grandchild, Nicole Hauschen, and siblings.
