Norman F. Moffitt, age 79, of Galva, Iowa, formerly Sioux Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Odebolt Specialty Care in Odebolt, Iowa

Celebration of Life services will take place at a later date. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Norman Francis Moffitt was born May 18, 1944 in Holstein, Iowa. He attended school in Cherokee and later graduated from Greenville-Rossie in 1963. He worked as the control operator at Wisdom Station Spencer, Iowa, an electrical power plant, for 36 years before retiring.

On December 12, 1965, Norman was united in marriage to Pamela Knudtson in the First Lutheran Church in Sioux Rapids. They were blessed with two daughters: Tami and Sarah.

Norman was a member of the American Legion and was a true handyman. He was always busy and did not like to sit still. He loved working on cars and enjoyed remodeling his own home. Norman thoroughly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren sharing with them his love of Orange TicTacs. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish Norman’s memory include his wife, Pamela Moffitt of Galva, Iowa; daughters: Tami Glienke of Aurelia, Iowa; Sarah Johnson of Thorton, Colorado; brother: Wayne Moffitt of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; sisters: Karen Birchard of Manson, Iowa; Ruth (Jeff) Vander Sluis of Spirit Lake, Iowa; Carmen (Marvin) Woolridge of Spirit Lake, Iowa; grandchildren: Tessa (Jacob) Doerksen; Elijah Johnson; Maya Johnson; Max Glienke; Jacob Glienke; great-grandchildren: Jovi, Eve, Mason, and Silas Doerksen; extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Merle and Dorothy (Droegmiller) Moffitt.
