Myrna Feldman, age 84, of Albert City, Iowa died Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Memorial services will be held Monday, October 19, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Albert City Evangelical Free Church. Burial will follow in the Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City. Visitation will take place Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 3-5:00 p.m. at the Albert City Evangelical Free Church. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.

Myrna Joy Nelson, the daughter of David and Stella (Anderson) Nelson was born in Storm Lake, Iowa, on November 3, 1930. She lived her youth on a farm near Albert City. Myrna attended school in Albert City where she graduated from the Albert City High School in 1948. Myrna continued her education at the Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in home economics in 1952.

On June 28, 1952, Myrna was united in marriage to Marlowe Feldman in Albert City, Iowa. Myrna and Marlowe welcomed two children, Kirk and Jayne, into their home. She taught high school home economics for six years in the communities of Alta, Sioux Rapids and Marathon. Myrna and Marlowe’s married lifetime has been spent farming in the Albert City vicinity. Myrna worked alongside Marlowe on the farm and was a devoted farm wife, mother, and homemaker. They retired from farming in 1998 and moved into the town of Albert City in 2004, where they have made their home since.

Myrna was an active member of the Albert City Evangelical Free Church, the Woman’s Study Club, Friends of the Albert City Library, the Buena Vista County Hospital Auxiliary, Young at Heart, and the FCWM Church Auxiliary. Myrna will be remembered as an avid reader and she enjoyed gardening and traveling with Marlowe and making a lifetime of memories on their trips within the United States and abroad.

Myrna’s life will always be loved and cherished by her family which include her husband of 63 years, Marlowe, of Albert City, Iowa; children: Kirk and Corey Feldman of Carbondale, Colorado; and Jayne Paulsen of Ida Grove, Iowa; grandchildren: Harlee Paulsen of Ida Grove, Iowa; Kelsie Feldman of Williston, North Dakota; and Buckshot Barry of Carbondale, Colorado; brother-in-law, David Fredrickson of Mesa, Arizona; nieces, nephews, and her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Paul Paulsen; and her sister, Charlotte Fredrickson.

May the Lord be honored through the life and memory of Myrna Joy Feldman.
