Marvel A. Frederick, age 88, of Spencer, Iowa, and formerly of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Monday, August 29, 2016, at the Longhouse Residence in Spencer.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Marvel A. Richardson, the daughter of Morgan and Alta (Larson) Richardson, was born in Alta, Iowa, on July 22, 1928. She lived her youth and received her education in the Linn Grove and Sioux Rapids communities. In her youth, Marvel enjoyed riding the train from Linn Grove to Peterson, Iowa.

She was confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Linn Grove.

On August 18, 1946, Marvel was united in marriage to Harold Frederick in Truesdale, Iowa. The couple was blessed with three sons: Harold, Terry, and Dennis.

Marvel is survived by her three sons: Harold (Bernadine) Frederick of Branson, Missouri; Terry Frederick of Storm Lake, Iowa; Dennis (Jane) Frederick of Storm Lake, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; brother: Donald (Beverly) Richardson of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; and sister, Helen Freeman of Apopka, Florida; other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; sisters: Ivy Felton and Hazel Freeman; brother-in-law: and sister-in-law: Lyle (Erma) Frederick; and two great grandchildren: Hannah and Aiden Kruse.
