Marvel F. Buse, age 93, of Albert City, Iowa died Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 2-4:00 p.m. at the home of Kevin Buse, 531 S. 3rd Street in Albert City. Burial will be at a later date. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.
Marvel Francis Hartung, the daughter of Fred and Violet (Bowen) Hartung, was born in Sioux Rapids, Iowa on May 12, 1922. She had a twin brother named, Marvin. Marvel grew up in the Sioux Rapids community where she received her education.
On July 3, 1940, Marvel was united in marriage to George Wallace Buse in Canton, South Dakota. Together, they were blessed with two children: Kevin and Michelle. Following their marriage, they lived in Albert City where George was engaged in farming.
For many years, Marvel was involved with Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and was a member of the 500 Card Club for 50 years. She was also a member of the Golden Rule Club and made numerous quilts with the club members which she enjoyed. Marvel will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and she cherished the times she was able to spend with her family.
Marvel’s life is honored and celebrated by her family which include her children: Kevin and his wife, Shelly, Buse and Michelle Henderson, all of Albert City, Iowa; grandchildren: Melanie and Tim Fuchs; Jordan and Josh Kermes; and Kash Buse; great grandchildren: Kiley, McKenna, and Addisyn Fuchs and Gage Kermes; as well as several nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Buse; twin brother, Marvin; and two sisters: NevDel Anderson and Iowa Roberts.
