Marjorie Johnson, age 88, of Albert City, Iowa died February 12, 2015 at Pleasant View Home in Albert City.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 16, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Albert City. Burial will be in the Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City. Visitation will take place Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 2-4:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.

Marjorie Mae Pierson, the daughter of John V. and Jesse (Jones) Pierson was born near Storm Lake, Iowa on January 22, 1927. She received her education at the Lincoln Lee Township School, graduating with the Class of 1944. Marge was baptized and confirmed at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert City.

On September 18, 1948, Marge was united in marriage to Donald Paul Johnson in Jackson, Minnesota. This couple was blessed with five children: Howard, Brian, Jeffery, Gail, and Tom. Their married lifetime has been spent in the Albert City community where Don owned and operated an electrical and plumbing business and Marge was a devoted wife and mother to her family.

She was a lifelong member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and belonged to the Ladies Aid for many years. Marge loved sharing in her family’s lives and following all of their activities. Special interests of hers included knitting, playing cards, playing the piano, and bird watching.

Marge’s life is lovingly remembered and cherished by her family which include her husband of 66 years, Donald, of Albert City, Iowa; children: Brian (Karen) Johnson of Albert City, Iowa; Gail Johnson of Des Moines, Iowa; and Tom (Terry) Johnson of Treynor, Iowa; grandchildren: Jeff (Sarah) Johnson, Joe (Angie) Johnson, Jennifer (Trey) Karlen, Allison (Jeff) Emery, Lexanne Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Michelle Johnson, and Susan Johnson; great grandchildren: Kaylee, Kassie, Dorrian, Damian, and Devon Johnson; Micah and Eli Johnson; and Victoria and Mitchell Emery; one sister, Lucille Skog of Albert City, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeffery in infancy; son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Lisa Johnson; brother, John Pierson; and four sisters: Hazel Pierson, Lela Braaks, Alice Lawson, and Ruth Dahlstrom.
