Kenneth W. Johnson, age 93, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at the North Lake Manor in Storm Lake.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City. Burial will follow in the Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.

Kenneth Walter Johnson, the son of Carl and Eleanor (Nelson) Johnson was born in Albert City, Iowa, on January 29, 1921. He lived his youth in the Albert City community and graduated from the Albert City High School in 1940. Ken honorably served his country in the United States Navy from June 24, 1942 until January 1, 1946.

Following his honorable discharge, Ken lived many years in Elmhurst, Illinois, where he served as an accountant at the Merit Chevrolet dealership. He moved to Storm Lake, Iowa in 1976 and was employed at the Peterson car dealership. Ken has made his home at North Lake Manor since September 27, 2006.

Ken was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, he enjoyed attending the Brookfield Zoo when he lived in Chicago and Ken was also a collector of newspaper articles that pertained to his family.

Ken’s life will be remembered by his family which include his sons, Scott and Laura Johnson of Upland, California; and Eric Peter and Jorja Johnson of Allerton, Illinois; grandchildren: Catherine Noel Johnson, and Eric, Aaron, David, Curtis and Billy Johnson; sister-in-law, Donna Johnson of Storm Lake, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; Terry, who died on May 27, 2000; sister, Nadine; and brother, Wayne.
