Jerry W. Everidge

Jerry W. Everidge, age 65, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina formerly of Council Bluffs, Iowa died on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Poland Township Cemetery in Marathon, Iowa. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements. 

Jerry Wayne Everidge, the son of William and Margaret (Chandler) Everidge, was born on December 13, 1954 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Growing up, Jerry attended grade school and high school in North Carolina. He graduated from East Forsyth High School in 1973.

Jerry enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country on December 10, 1973. He was honorably discharged on December 8, 1978. After his discharge, Jerry then attended Northwest Iowa Community College.

Jerry was united in marriage to Linda Garton on December 28, 1973, at Augsburg, Germany, and this couple was blessed with two sons: Shawn and Brandon.  Throughout their married lifetime, Linda and Jerry have resided in Alabama, Illinois, and Iowa. The couple moved back to the states in 1975. They enjoyed traveling to Sanibel Island, Florida and taking fishing trips to Minnesota.

Throughout his working career, Jerry worked as a safety manager for OSI Foods.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Shawn (Laura) Everidge of Omaha, Nebraksa and Brandon (Candice) Everidge of Avoca, Iowa; grandchildren, Emma and Elle; extended family and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Linda in 2018.
