Janice Trebesch, age 69, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, passed away at her home on June 1, 2023 after a lengthy illness.
Memorial services will take place Friday, August 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. A private family burial was held in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.
Janice Eileen (Jacobson) Trebesch was born October 7, 1953 in Spencer, Iowa to Meree and Floyd Jacobson in Sioux Rapids, Iowa.
She attended schools in Sioux Rapids, graduating with the class of 1972. She attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg before entering the Navy in 1974. One of her highlights while in Japan was to have her parents visit. She worked several jobs: from being a secretary to a nurse’s aide. In 1988, she met and married Glen Trebesch.
Janice’s free time was filled with going to thrift stores, letter writing, reading, and putting jigsaw puzzles together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen in 1993; her parents: Floyd and Meree Jacobson; a baby brother: Roger Dale; aunt: Geneva Grey; all of Sioux Rapids.
She is survived by two brothers: Charlie (Bonnie) of Mankato, Minnesota; Thomas (Pamela) of Sioux Rapids; niece: Erica Jacobson of Spirit Lake, Iowa; nephews: Michael Jacobson and children, Camila and Christopher of Tucson, Arizona; Matthew (Ann) Jacobson and their daughter, Piper of Nebraska City, Nebraska; and a host of cousins and friends.
