George W. Buse, age 91, of Albert City, Iowa died Saturday, April 01, 2006, at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Albert City.

Funeral services will b held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at the United Methodist Church in Marathon, Iowa with Pastor David Schumann officiating. Burial will be in the Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City. Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm, Monday, April 3, 2006 at Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City, where the family will greet friends.

George Wallace Buse was born on January 12, 1915, in Albert City, Iowa to Fred and Emma (Hill) Buse. He lived with his family in the Albert City area, where he attended and graduated from the Albert City School.

On July 3, 1940, George was united in marriage to Marvel Frances Hartung in Canton, South Dakota. The union was blessed with two children, Kevin and Michelle.

They raised their family in rural Albert City, where George was engaged in farming. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Marathon, having been baptized in 1950.

In addition to farming, George served on the Board of the Marathon Co-op. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, horseshoe pitching, coffee with friends, Boy Scouts and the Order of the Arrow.

Those left to cherish George’s memory are his wife, of over 65 years, Marvel of Albert City; son Kevin Buse and his wife Shelly of Albert City; daughter Michelle Henderson of Albert City; grandchildren: Melanie Fuchs and her husband Tim, Jordan Buse and Kash Buse; great-grandchildren: Kiley, McKenna and Addisyn Fuchs; and a host of extended family and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents; step-dad Will Jochims; three brothers: Roy, Maynard and Walter.
