Florence attended Marshal Number Nine rural school and Albert City Community School graduating in 1945.
Florence was united in marriage with Francis Porath on August 28, 1948. This union was blessed with four children – Douglas, Cynthia, Gregory, and Diane.
The family lived on their farm southeast of Albert City. After Francis died in 1987, she continued to live on the farm until 2011 when she moved to Countryside Living in Albert City.
Florence loved the quiet country life; all of nature, especially flowers and birds’ songs; the changing seasons; the friendliness of a small town; and her church.

She was a member of Just-A-Club, The Town and Country Federated Club, and Albert City Threshermen & Collectors Association.
Florence enjoyed her family and all the special ties they shared. Visiting her children and their families or having them come to visit her made for many happy memories. She enjoyed sewing, reading, writing poetry, baking, displaying her many “pretty dishes”, mowing the big yard, and scrapbooking.
