Evelyn M. Larsen, age 84, of Albert City, Iowa died March 2, 2015 at Pleasant View Home in Albert City.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Albert City. Burial will be in the Danebod Cemetery in Tyler, Minnesota at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.

Evelyn Mae Nielsen, the daughter of Albert and Agnes (Christensen) Nielsen was born in Tyler, Minnesota on June 3, 1930. She lived her youth in the Tyler vicinity beginning her education in a country school. Evelyn later graduated from the Tyler High School.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Cyril Struss on June 16, 1951 in Tyler, Minnesota. Together, they were blessed with four sons: Alan, Daryl, Dean, and Keith. Evelyn and Cyril’s married life was spent in the Tyler area. Cyril died on April 17, 1966. On August 24, 1968, Evelyn was united in marriage to Clyde Larsen at the Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tyler, Minnesota. Following their marriage, Clyde and Evelyn were engaged in farming near Tyler. Evelyn was also employed as a secretary at the Tyler Hospital. The family moved to Denison, Iowa, in 1975, where Evelyn worked for Clark’s Concrete. Clyde and Evelyn came to Albert City in 2004 where they made their home. Clyde died on July 1, 2013. For the past 8 years, Evelyn has resided at the Pleasant View Home.

She was a member of the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at Albert City. Evelyn had a love for dogs and birds and her favorite pastimes were crocheting and puzzles.

Evelyn’s life will always be celebrated and cherished by her family which include her children: Alan (Geraldine) Struss of Owatonna, Minnesota; Daryl Struss of Sioux City, Iowa; Dean (Colleen) Struss of Albert City, Iowa; and Keith (Janet) Struss; 12 grandchildren: Daniel (Sarah), Brian, Aaron (Neomi), Mindy (Eric), Rob (Katie), Kirk, Travis (Janna), Erik (Danielle), Alex, Ben (Nicole), Cy, and Sarah, 14 great grandchildren: Paytyn, Kaiden, Lilly, Trenton, Sawyer, Kyle, Logan, Oceanna, Lea, Ellie, Jaxon, Ava, Jamie and Olivia, other extended family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one sister; and a great granddaughter, Alyssa Struss.
