Elaine Roling

Elaine K. Roling, age 72, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa died Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Aspire Nursing and Rehabilitation in Sutherland, Iowa. 

A Celebration of Life visitation will take place Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 3-5:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements. 

Elaine Kay Roling was born September 2, 1949 to Glen Ivan and Ruby Maxine (Wright) Whitinger. She attended school in Sioux Rapids, Iowa and graduated in 1967.

Elaine married Don Roling Jr. on July 22, 1967 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sioux Rapids. To this union, two children were born: Angie and Jeremy.

Elaine was a hard worker and could be found helping her husband Don at their sign company. In her free time, she loved quilting, traveling and taking vacations. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her mother, Ruby Maxine (Wright) Whitinger; husband: Donald Roling Jr; children: Angie (Bill) Palmer of Sioux City, Iowa; Jeremy (Katy) Roling of Curlew, Iowa; sisters: Patricia (Richard) Lohse of Rembrandt, Iowa; Sue (Steve) Schultz of Sioux City, Iowa; grandchildren: Tyler Palmer; Brady Palmer; Ella Palmer; Riley Palmer; Payton Roling; Eli Roling; great-grandchildren: Mason Palmer; Owen Palmer; Kayden Palmer; extended family and friends.

Elaine is preceded in death by her father, Glen Ivan Whitinger; infant son: Don Roling III; parents-in-law: Donald Roling Sr. and Irene Roling.
