Edwin “Ed” L. Wilson, age 78, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa died March 27, 2025 at Ruthven Community Care Center.

Celebration of Life will take place Friday, June 20, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements. 

Edwin LaRoy Wilson was born October 22, 1946 to Jonathan and Rosalee Wilson in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from North Highschool in Hawthorne, California then went on to attend El Camino College in Los Angeles County, California.

Ed was blessed with five children: Luke, Andrew, David, Katherine, and Jennifer. On August 24, 1996, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Waitzfelder in Reno, Nevada. He welcomed two stepchildren: Barry and Darla.

Ed worked as a supply technician for the Federal Aviation Administration in Los Angeles, California before moving to Sioux Rapids, Iowa in 2016. He loved listening to music and collecting items. You could find him enjoying a walk with his dog outside. Ed will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Wilson of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; children: Andrew, David, Katherine, Jennifer; stepchildren: Barry Bell; Darla Chambers; six step grandchildren; brothers: Jay Wilson, Michael Wilson, Rex Wilson, and Murray Wilson; sisters: Renee, Tracy; sister-in-law: Jymme (Paul) Risvold and her family; extended family and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; son: Luke Wilson; many aunts and uncles.
