Duane R. Anderson

Duane R. Anderson, age 70, of Linn Grove, Iowa died Saturday, March 12, 2022 in Linn Grove. 

Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 1-3:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of arrangements.

Duane Russell was born October 28, 1951 to Doyle and Lela (Struve) Anderson in Spencer, Iowa. He attended the Sioux Valley School and graduated in 1969. In 1970, Duane entered the Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam war. He was discharged in December 1972.

On July 7, 1973, Duane was united in marriage to Marcia (Ricker) Taylor. This union was blessed with two sons: Adam and Ben.

Duane was committed to volunteering in the Peterson CRU and was an active member in the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed camping, singing, and playing horseshoes. Duane was a talented musician and played the banjo and organ. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Duane was survived by his special friend, Wendy Nelson; son: Ben (Amber) Anderson; brothers: David Anderson and Doug Anderson; sister: Elaine (Martin) Schoening; grandchildren: Adam, Kayleigh, and Bryce Anderson; Seth Hill-Anderson; sister-in-law: JoAnn Anderson; and daughter-in-law: Molly Hill-Anderson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Lela (Struve) Anderson; son: Adam Anderson; brother: Paul Anderson; and his sister-in-law: Darlene Anderson.
