Doris I. Lindlief, age 72, of Minden, Nebraska and formerly of Sioux Rapids, Iowa passed away Thursday, August 24, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids, with Reverend Tom Petersen officiating. Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery at Sioux Rapids. The Sliefert Funeral Home of Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids, where the family will be present.
Doris Ingrid Edwardson was born on August 26, 1933 in Sioux Rapids, Iowa to Carl and Julia (Wilbur) Edwardson. Doris graduated from Sioux Rapids Consolidated Schools in 1951. She then graduated from the National Business Institute in Sioux City, Iowa.
On June 9, 1954, Doris married Lameris Lindlief in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. Lameris passed away on October 31, 1971.
Doris was a clerk for the Marine Corps exchange in 1955 and 1956. She then worked for Noyes Cattle Company in Valley, Minden, Orleans and Kearney, Nebraska for over 35 years as a secretary and bookkeeper. Doris was very proficient and organized in all the work she did.
In 1976, Doris met Lewis Pinn and they have been best friends, ever since. Doris and Lewis enjoyed antique shopping, traveling the Nebraska roads on Sunday drives and going to Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada. She also enjoyed seeing her nieces and nephews and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her passing are her best friend of 30 years, Lewis Pinn of Minden, Nebraska; Lewis’s daughters: Krystal Schneekloth and her husband Joel of Akron, Colorado, Michelle Norton and her husband Bruce of Dixon, California; her sister, Darlene Spiess and her husband Larry of Alta, Iowa; four brothers: Don Edwardson and his wife Linda of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, Dennis Edwardson of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, Dave Edwardson of Spencer, Iowa, and Doug Edwardson of Elk Point, South Dakota; special friend, Kathryn Shield of Kearney, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Preceding Doris in death were her parents and her first husband, Lameris.
She will be forever loved and missed.
