Donna R. Donaldson

Donna R. Donaldson, age 87, of Marathon, Iowa died on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Public funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids. Burial will be in the Poland Township Cemetery in Marathon. Public visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Sioux Rapids. Masks and social distancing are required for guests at the services. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements. 

Donna Rae Donaldson, the daughter of Fred and Helen (Duckworth) Grienke, was born on July 25, 1933 in Storm Lake, Iowa. Growing up, Donna attended grade school and high school in Storm Lake. She earned her high school diploma from Storm Lake High School.
   
Donna was united in marriage to A.D. Donaldson. The couple was blessed with one daughter, Brenda. 
  
In her free time, Donna enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, attending church, and hosting the holidays. She also enjoyed taking care of her many farm animals, reading mystery novels, and collecting jewelry. 
   
Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Jim Grienke of Alta, Iowa; grandchildren,  Amber (Shane) Jessen of Sioux Rapids, Iowa and Autumm (Mike) Brazel of Laurens, Iowa; great-grandchildren: Brianna (Stefan) Landsness of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; Mikayla (Taylor) Landsness of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; Weston Brazel and Trinity Brazel of Laurens, Iowa; Trey and Peyton Otto; great-great-grandchildren: Skyden Pounds, Merritt Pounds, and Greyson Norland all of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; and many other family members.
   
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, A.D. Donaldson; parents, Fred and Helen Grienke; daughter, Brenda Patrick; brother, Eddy Grienke; and sisters, Betty Reed, and Phyllis Lewis.
