Donald D. Oehlerich, age 80, of Albert City, Iowa died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Pleasant View Home in Albert City.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will take place Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 5-8:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake or Pleasant View Home in Albert City. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.

Donald Dean Oehlerich was born February 27, 1935 in Keystone, Iowa the son of Christian and Margaret (Jensen) Oehlerich. On March 17, 1935 Donald was baptized and later confirmed on March 4, 1948.

Growing up, he attended school in Keystone where he graduated from Keystone High School in 1952.

Following high school graduation, he worked in management for a corrugated box company.

Donald was married and blessed with three sons: Doug, Scott, and Jim Lindstrom.

On September 11, 1970, Donald was united in marriage to Kay Crump in Dallas, Texas. Together, they were blessed with one daughter, Michelle.

Donald was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Storm Lake and the Albert City Historical Society.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and traveling. Family was very important to Donald, especially his grandkids. Donald will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kay Oehlerich of Albert City, Iowa; children: Michelle Oehlerich of Albert City, Iowa; Doug Lindstrom, Scott Lindstrom, and Jim Lindstrom all of Nebraska; grandchildren: Gage Stephens and fiancé, Jesse Krug; Cooper Stephens and fiancé, George Unger; Derek Lindstrom; Brett (Shay) Lindstrom; Paige Lindstrom; Abby Lindstrom; Kyle Lindstrom; great grandchildren: Maci Shea Unger; Norah Rae Stephens (arriving in November); Malachi Lindstrom; Jocelyn Lindstrom; Savannah Lindstrom; Kaisen Lindstrom; and Kynleigh Lindstrom; brother, Bobby C. Oehlerich of Nebraska; sister, Darlene Hoover of Ohio; extended family and friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Margaret Oehlerich; sisters: Ruth and Betty; and one granddaughter, Kaylee.
