Dolores Joy Sierck, age 85, of Spencer, Iowa died Saturday, June 4, 2016 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Sioux Rapids. Burial will follow in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids. Visitation will take place Monday, June 6, 2016 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.

Dolores Joy Sierck was born on August 23, 1930, the daughter of Clayton and Garnet (Stewart) Johnson.

She attended Marathon High School and graduated in 1948. Shortly after high school, Dolores married Robert Sierck on October 23, 1949. Robert and Dolores started a family and together they were blessed with four children: Randy, Jacqueline, Greg, and Shawn.

Dolores was able to help raise a family while working at the Clay County Bank and Ellerbrek’s Clothing Store.

Dolores enjoyed watching NASCAR, sports, and western movies. Her children and grandchildren would say she was fiercely independent yet soft-spoken, gave the best advice, and loved her clothes and shoes. She was a loving grandmother who cherished the time spent with each of her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons: Randy (Kim) Sierck of Spencer, Iowa; Greg (Glenda) Sierck of Spencer, Iowa; Shawn (Deb) Sierck of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren: Brady Sierck of Mankato, Minnesota; Kady (Tom) Koenig of Owatonna, Minnesota; Kristin (fiancé, Tate Gabriel) Kellar of Pierre, South Dakota; Stewart Sierck of Spencer, Iowa; Brent (Kristin) Sierck of Spencer, Iowa; Candice (fiancé, Corey Pointer) Sierck of Kansas City, Missouri; Kendra Sierck of Kansas City, Missouri; great grandson, Jackson Koenig and another great grandson on the way; brothers: Eugene Johnson of Marathon, Iowa; Ronnie (Sandy) Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska; sisters: Nylene Jones of La Crescent, Minnesota; Vera Klindt of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; infant daughter, Jacqueline; sister, Ina (Howard) Sheets; grandson, Jameson Sierck; sister-in-law, Jane Johnson; brothers-in-law, Harold Klindt and Gordon Jones.
