Diana Norlin

Diana Norlin, age 74, of Marathon, Iowa died Thursday, June 6, 2024 in Newell, Iowa.

Private family services will be held at a later date. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements. 

On November 20, 1949, Melvin and Betty (Miller) Fassler were blessed with a daughter, Diana.

Diana was united in marriage to Giles Norlin on October 20, 1984 at Marathon Park in Marathon, Iowa.

Music was Diana’s passion. She enjoyed watching cute animal videos and dancing videos. In the warm months, you could find Diana working in her garden. More than anything, Diana treasured time with her family. She especially adored her grandchildren. Diana will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish Diana’s memory include her husband: Giles Norlin of Marathon, Iowa; daughter: Teresa Hale of Marathon, Iowa; sister: Dawn Ramirez of Newell, Iowa; grandchildren: Tyler (Jessica Stahl) Speidel; Nicholas Hale; Jason (Brianna) Shideler; Carly Shideler; great-grandchildren: Kolton and Cyrus Speidel; Harper Shideler; Avery and Asher Shideler; Carter Shideler-Clay; extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Melvin and Betty Fassler; son: Randy Shideler; and grandson: Justin Shideler.
