David Peck, age 36, of Albert City, passed away unexpectedly January 19th, 2022 at UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.

David Martin Peck was born on August 3, 1985 in Storm Lake, Iowa to Ben and Maren Peck.

Growing up, David attended school in Albert City and Laurens and graduated from Laurens-Marathon in 2004. He studied auto body repair at Iowa Lakes Community College.

David was united in marriage to Amanda DeJong on April 1, 2012. Together, they had four children: Lindsay, Sheyanne, Hunter, and Zofia.

David was an employee of RANCO and most recently Buena Vista University as a groundskeeper.

David’s love of the outdoors was evident at an early age as you would find him outside swimming at the pool or helping his grandpa at the farm. In high school, David worked at Lewis and Clark Scout Camp in Tabor, South Dakota as a counselor, lifeguard, and assistant ranger. As an adult, David enjoyed the outdoors by hunting with his dogs, fishing, and working on the farm with his dad, Ben. He also was a skilled welder, metal worker, and handyman as he helped many people throughout the community fix what needed to be fixed. When David was not working outdoors, you could find him involved with his kids' lives, shooting baskets, watching kids activities, and hanging out around the house with his dogs.

David is survived by his wife, Amanda, children: Lindsay, Sheyanne, Hunter, and Zofia all of Albert City; parents, Ben and Maren Peck of Albert City, Iowa; brothers: Chad (Mary) Peck of Laurens, Iowa; Matthew (Sarah) Peck of Eldridge, Iowa; nieces: Erin and Katelyn; nephew, Connor; aunt, Karn Johnsen of Albert City; and many other friends and family members.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents, LeRoy and Edna Peck and Fern and Allan Johnsen; uncle, Benjamin Peck; three infant brothers: Shane Martin, John Paul, and James Jay, and twin infant sons.

Memorials may be made to the family.
