Darwin D. Borron, age 71, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Memorial Services for Mr. Borron are scheduled for Monday, August 21, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake, with Reverend Duane Queen of Storm Lake’s Lakeside Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be at a later date. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call on Sunday, August 20, 2006 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake, where the family will be present.

Darwin Duane Borron was born February 28, 1935 in Lake View, Iowa, the son of Art and Margaret (Brauer) Borron. He was baptized at the First Congregational Church in Lake View on April 6, 1935. He lived at and attended school in Lake View through the ninth grade. In 1953, Darwin heard the call to duty by his country and joined the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Airman in 1954. On December 12, 1964, Darwin was united in marriage to Evelyn Anderson in Jackson, Minnesota. The couple was blessed with a step-daughter, Becky. Darwin was a hard worker and employed in the maintenance field until his retirement in 1996.

A people person, Darwin always enjoyed relaxing with his family and friends. He liked the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and camping. His family, however, was always his first priority. He will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years, Evelyn of Storm Lake; step-daughter Becky Roby of Gilbert, Arizona; granddaughters Hayley and Mady Roby of Gilbert, Arizona; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.

Darwin was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Raymond, Darrell and Dale Borron.
