Welcome to the memorial page for

Dale J. Piercy

June 9, 1950 ~ October 9, 2015 (age 65) 65 Years Old

Dale Jerome Piercy was born June 9, 1950, in Sioux Rapids, Iowa to Lloyd and Cleta (Haner) Piercy. His early years were spent in Spencer where he spent a lot of time taking advantage of all the activities that were offered for the “sports minded” young man. In junior high, he moved with his family to Cornell and later to Sioux Rapids where he graduated in 1968. He then attended Emmetsburg Community College where he participated in baseball and basketball and graduated with an associate degree in business.

In 1969, Dale married his high school sweetheart, Karen Davidson, and would spend the next 46 years of life together. They became the parents of two children, Stephanie and Darren. He loved attending all of their activities, supporting them in any way whether it was coaching, umpiring or whatever was needed to help out. In 2000, Rania, the first of four grandchildren was born and soon came Allison, Jada and Drew. They were the “apples of his eye” and he and Karen spent many nights at the ballparks or gyms watching them hone their skills. He loved sports of all kinds and was an avid bowler, golfer, race fan and Iowa Hawkeye fan, as everyone could tell by his “Hawkeye Gold” pickup.

He was employed by Frito Lay, Inc for 20 years as a route salesman and was currently employed by National Box & Display in Spencer.

Dale passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 65. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Claire and Eleanor Davidson, and sister-in-law, Ellen Lange.

Keeping his memory alive are his wife, Karen; daughter, Stephanie and her daughter, Rania of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Darren and Christy and their children, Allison, Jada, and Drew of Spencer; brother, Harold and his wife Georgia of Spencer; brothers-in-law, James and Sandra Davidson of Burlington, Iowa; and Gordon and Deb Davidson of Waterloo, Iowa; nieces; nephews; and many friends.

Dale always believed in doing the right thing and doing more for others, so the family has chosen to give life and health to others through the Iowa Donor Network.

God bless the memory of Dale Jerome Piercy.

No formal services will be held at the present time as burial will be at a later date. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.
