Dale F. “Snuffy” Brunning, age 90, of Storm Lake, Iowa died March 11, 2016 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Dale Forrest Brunning, the son of Randall and Pearl Brunning was born in Boone, Iowa on September 5, 1925. He lived his youth and received his education in Boone, graduating from Boone High School.
On June 26, 1957, Dale was united in marriage to Laureen “Dee” Delp in Waterloo, Iowa. Together, they were blessed with four children: Richard, Randy, Viria and Dale. Dee and Snuffy’s married lifetime was spent in the Storm Lake vicinity. Snuffy hauled livestock for Peters Trucking for 40 years. In later years, he worked part time for several car dealerships in Storm Lake. Snuffy spent the past two years as a resident of North Lake Manor.
Snuffy had been a member of the Moose Lodge, CB Clubs in Iowa, and had served as a volunteer for the Muscular Dystrophy Telethons. Special pastimes of Dale’s include playing Bingo, reading Western novels, and in his younger years he enjoyed playing pool and cards.
Snuffy’s life will always be loved and cherished by his family which include his children: Richard (Katy) Brunning of Urbandale, Iowa; and Dale Brunning of Newell, Iowa; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other extended family and many lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dee Brunning; two children: Randy and Viria; and his brothers: Orville, Jim, Paul, Harold, and Ben.
