Beverly Koster

Beverly Elaine Koster passed away on September 2, 2022 at the age of 75, following a brief battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place Monday, September 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
  
Bev was born on November 7, 1946, in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, the eldest of six. She attended Sioux Rapids schools and graduated with the class of 1965. Following high school Bev drove mail trucks for the United States Postal Service, after which she worked at Walmart, and later Casey’s before eventually retiring.

Bev’s family remember her to have been a kind and thoughtful mother, aunt, and sibling. Her family recalls Bev’s brother, Larry, having been in an accident at the age of six in which he was badly burned. Bev, only twelve years old at the time, had the presence of mind to wrap Larry in a blanket, which almost certainly saved Larry’s life. Bev’s nieces and nephews have shared many fond memories of Bev. She was well known as an excellent cook, in particular her famous breakfast which included steak, gravy, and buttermilk pancakes, not to mention her scalloped ham and potatoes, and her goulash. Bev cherished her family and time spent with them. She treasured the visits from her son and grandchildren. Nephews and nieces enjoyed spending time with Bev learning to bake bread, going fishing, and playing cards. Bev enjoyed spending time with her many friends and was involved in Bible studies and her Mom’s group. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and her many pets.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents; Daniel and Norma (Wright) Wenck; her brothers: Larry and Gary; her sister: Lori Ashley; her brother-in-law: Frank Herwig; and her sister-in-law: Rhonda Wenck.

She is survived by her son: Brandon (Terri) Mulvany of Oklahoma and their children Amanda, Melissa, Mason, and Brody; brother: Daniel Wenck of California; sister: Debbie (Larry) Kacmarynski of Rembrandt, Iowa; sister-in-law: Linda Wenck of Oklahoma; and sister-in-law: Kerri Wenck of Marathon, Iowa.
