Barbara A. Zevenbergen, age 68, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 19, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Summit Evangelical Free Church in Alta, Iowa. Burial will be in the Poland Township Cemetery in Marathon. Visitation will take place Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 4-6:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Barbara Ann Robinson, the daughter of Kenneth and Elizabeth (Carpenter) Robinson, was born in Spencer, Iowa, on March 30, 1948. She lived her youth and received her education in Marathon, Iowa, graduating with the Class of 1966.
On July 12, 1969, Barb was united in marriage to Jerry Zevenbergen in Storm Lake, Iowa. To this union, four children were born: Mark, Jason, Jill, and Rachel. Barb and Jerry were blessed to have shared 47 years of marriage together in the Storm Lake community.
Barb was a dependable, hard-working, and gracious employee having worked at Pamida, the Four Sons, Page’s Bakery, the blue jean factory, and most recently at Wal-Mart in Storm Lake.
Barb faithfully attended the Summit Evangelical Free Church in Alta. Special interest of Barb’s included reading, doing counted cross stitch, sewing, and doing all kinds of crafts and ceramics.
Barb’s life is loved and celebrated by her family which include her husband, Jerry of Storm Lake, Iowa; children: Mark Zevenbergen of Shakopee, Minnesota; Jason Zevenbergen of Alta, Iowa; Jill Zevenbergen (John McGrane) of Richmond, Virginia; and Rachel (Nick) Hasenclever of Fort Madison, Iowa; grandchildren: Jada, Micah, Henry, Owen and Ryker; mother, Elizabeth “Betty” Robinson of Everly, Iowa; brothers: Bob Robinson and Larry Robinson, both of Marathon, Iowa; Terry (Beverly) Robinson of Scottsdale, Arizona; Todd Robinson of Coppell, Texas; and Chad Robinson of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; sisters: Bonnie (Andrew) Hoyt of Perry, Iowa; Becky Laidig (Tim Newbrough) of Lake Park, Iowa; and Sarah Robinson (Shannon Threlkeld) of Bloomington, Indiana; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Robinson.
