Barbara Bright

Barbara Bright, age 78, of Albert City, Iowa formerly of Sioux Rapids, Iowa died on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Albert City.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids. Private burial will take place in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Sioux Rapids. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements. 

Barbara Ann Bright was born December 19, 1942 in Sioux Rapids, Iowa the daughter of Floyd and Arlene (Cuthbert) Bright.

As an infant, Barbara was baptized and later confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Sioux Rapids where she remained a lifelong member.

Growing up, Barbara attended grade school in Sioux Rapids where she graduated in 1961. Following high school graduation, Barbara attended Buena Vista College where she graduated with a degree in Sociology in 1966.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Beverly (Patrick) Pomeroy; nieces: Jennifer Pomeroy and Traci Pomeroy; great nephew, Gunner Pomeroy Krier; extended family and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Arlene Bright; brother, Steven Bright; and nephew, Kevin Bright.
