Amy B. Price, age 102, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Friday, September 4, 2015, at the North Lake Manor at Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Amy Belle Erven, the daughter of Benjamin A. and Harriet E. (Mathis) Erven, was born in Perry, Iowa, on January 24, 1913. She lived her youth and received her education at South Sioux City, Nebraska. Amy was a graduate of the South Sioux City High School.
On September 3, 1931, Amy was united in marriage to Nolan Allen Price in South Sioux City, Nebraska, and this couple was blessed with one daughter, Amy Darlene. Nolan was a federal meat inspector and following their marriage, they resided in Sioux City, Iowa. Amy and Nolan moved to Storm Lake in 1963. Nolan died in 1984, and Amy continued to make her home in Storm Lake. She became a resident of the North Lake Manor in December of 2009.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. Amy had a “green thumb” and grew many African violets and also enjoyed working with the flowers in her yard. She’ll also be remembered for her love of sewing.
Amy is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Darlene Evans of Storm Lake, Iowa; granddaughter, Debra and Duane Osman of Pine Cliff, Colorado; other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Robert Evans; one brother and one sister.
