Todd E. Smith, age 57, of Sibley, Iowa died on September 11, 2018 at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley, Iowa

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home in George, Iowa. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in George. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. 

Todd Eugene Smith, the son of James Russell and Shirley Ann (Horsman) Smith, was born at Spencer, Iowa on July 18, 1961.
   

Todd was born with a mental disability condition and at the age of 2 ½ he became a resident of the Tommy Dale Memorial Home in Sioux City, Iowa.  Throughout his lifetime, Todd was cared for at several nursing facilities in Glenwood, Iowa, Lake City, Iowa, and since 1999, he has made his home at the Sibley Specialty Care.
   

Todd enjoyed listening to music and he responded to those who cared for him.  Todd’s family would like to especially thank everyone at Sibley Specialty Care for the love, care and compassion they have shown Todd these past 19 years.

Todd’s life is honored and remembered by his family which include his mother: Shirley Smith of Sanborn, Iowa, and brothers and sisters-in-law: Brad and Joy Smith of Storm Lake, Iowa and Jeff and Karen Smith of Zionsville, Indiana, his nephews and niece: Matthew Smith, Michael Smith, Trisha Huset, Joshua Smith and Sean Smith, his great nieces and nephews: Emma Smith, Tanner and Brayden Huset, Averey and Emi Smith, Carson, Adelyn and Caden Smith, his great aunts, Oneta Forsythe, Marlene Reynold, Peggy Egerston, and Janice Brugman, his great uncle and aunt: David and Betty Smith, along with other extended family.
   

Todd was preceded in death by his father, Jim; his grandparents, Russell & Marian Smith; and his uncles: Roger Smith, Keith Brugman, Robert Klein, and Vern Egertson.
