Marion E. Peters

Marion E. Peters, age 105, of Webb, Iowa died Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at St. Luke's Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa. 

Funeral services will take place Friday, February 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Webb, Iowa. Burial will be in the Garfield Township Cemetery in Webb. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services at the church. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements. 

Marion Eleanor Peters, the daughter of Alfred and Edith Dahlberg, was born on December 19, 1913 in Canada. 

In her youth, Marion and her family settled in Iowa where she received an education. 

In 1931, she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Peters. The couple was blessed with four children: Eileen, Marvin, Darlo, and Chuck. 

Marion and Bill raised their family in the Laurens, Gillett Grove, Webb areas. She stayed at home and raised her children until they were grown. She then worked at Webb, Gillett Grove, and South Clay schools as a cook. 

In her free time, Marion enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She was a great seamstress and loved to crochet and sew items for her grandchildren. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Eileen Simons of Braymer, Missouri and Chuck (Betty) Peters of Webb, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Deloris “Bobbi” Williams; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. 

Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William “Bill”; sons, Marvin and Darlo; two grandchildren; and brothers: Eddie, Carl, and LeRoy.
