Linda Mae Everidge, age 64, of Council Bluffs, Iowa formerly of Marathon, Iowa died January 26, 2018 in Council Bluffs.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Poland Township Cemetery in Marathon. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.
Linda Mae Garton, the daughter of Erle Frank and Loella Mae (Geary) Garton was born at Storm Lake, Iowa, on July 24, 1953. She lived her youth and received her education at Marathon, Iowa, where she graduated from the Marathon High School. Linda served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era from September 18, 1972 until her honorable discharge on April 16, 1976. She attained the rank of sergeant and served in the finance and accounting department during her military career.
Linda was united in marriage to Jerry Everidge on December 28, 1973, at Augsburg, Germany, and this couple was blessed with two sons: Shawn and Brandon. Throughout their married lifetime, Linda and Jerry have resided in Alabama, Illinois, and Iowa. Linda received her post high school education at the Northwest Iowa Technical College in Sheldon, Iowa. For a brief period of time, she had been an administrative assistant in Storm Lake. Linda served as an executive secretary to the Director of Paranatology at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska for 24 years. Linda enjoyed working with the beautiful flowers in her yard, scrapbooking and collecting teapots.
Linda’s life in honored and cherished by her family which include her husband: Jerry, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, her two sons: Shawn (Laura) Everidge of Omaha, Nebraska and Brandon (Candice) Everidge of Avoca, Iowa, two granddaughters: Emma and Elle Murray, her brother: Jim Garton of Marathon, Iowa, nieces, nephews other extended family and many friends and colleagues.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister-in-law: Denine Garton.
