Jerry Stange, age 76, of Albert City, Iowa died Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center at Storm Lake, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Rembrandt, Iowa.  Burial will be in the Little Sioux Lutheran Cemetery in Rembrandt. Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 30, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of arrangements.

Jerry Lee Stange, the son of John and Florence (Dean) Stange, was born in Plymouth County, Iowa, on February 4, 1941. He was the youngest of 8 children born to John and Florence.  He lived his youth in the Rembrandt, Iowa, area and graduated from the Fairview School. He was baptized and confirmed at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Rembrandt.

Following high school, Jerry drove truck with his brother, Willis, and worked for Hygrade for many years. He also owned and operated a bar restaurant in Varina and Albert City. Jerry drove truck until his retirement. In his younger years, Jerry enjoyed fishing, camping, playing slow pitch softball and hunting. In later years he enjoyed going gambling, eating out and spending time playing cards. Jerry was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, attending a few games in his lifetime and eventually getting to enjoy their big win.

Jerry was united in marriage to Karen Fisher and this union was blessed with four children: Allen, Sonja, Jeff and John. In 1993, Jerry was united in marriage to Joann (Wills) Christiansen at the Church of Christ in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Jerry’s life will always be remembered and cherished by his family which include his four children: Allen (Deb) Stange and family of Aurelia, Iowa, Sonja (Curtis) Sievers and family of Linn Grove, Iowa, Jeff (Sharon) Stange and family of Pomeroy, Iowa and John (Dawn) Stange and family of Schaller, Iowa, 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, his sister: Bernice (Elmer) Peters of Spencer, Iowa, nieces, nephews, other extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three wives, two sisters and four brother.
