Jean D. Anderson, age 90, of Albert City, Iowa died November 9, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Graveside services will be held Monday, November 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements. 

Jean Delores Rasmussen, the daughter of Alvin and Elsie (Nelson) Rasmussen, was born at Viborg, South Dakota, on June 26, 1927.  The majority of Jean’s youth was spent in the Albert City community where she graduated from the Albert City High School.

Jean was united in marriage to Alvin “Allie” Anderson and this marriage was celebrated by two children: Mike and Cyndie. Jean and Allie’s married lifetime was spent in Albert City where Jean had been employed as a telephone operator and she later had a managerial position with the elevator.

Jean was a member of the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Albert City.  She enjoyed playing Bingo and playing cards with her friends.  Jean loved her family very much and cherished the times she could spend with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Jean’s life is remembered and honored by her family which include her children: Mike (June) Anderson of West Des Moines, Iowa; Cyndie (Royce) Holt of Albert City, Iowa; her grandchildren: Libby, Robby, Josh, Chad and J.D., her great grandchildren: Dylan, Zac, Sadie, Paxton, Cody, Dakota, Kennedy, Alex, Clare, Scott and Landon, other extended family and many lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Allie, on July 4, 1980.
