Jan Knudtson

Jan Knudtson, age 64, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at her home in rural Sioux Rapids. 

A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 4-6:00 p.m. at InnSpiration Vines and Wines in rural Linn Grove, Iowa. Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids.  Burial will be at a later date in the Little Sioux Valley Lutheran Cemetery in rural Rembrandt, Iowa. The Sliefert Funeral Home of Sioux Rapids, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.

Jan Renae Enderson, the daughter of Dale and Nadine (Stanley) Enderson, was born in Storm Lake, Iowa, on March 4, 1954.  She lived her youth in the Rembrandt vicinity and received her education there, graduating from the Rembrandt Consolidated School.

Jan was united in marriage to Richard “Rick” Knudtson, on October 6, 1972, at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Rembrandt.  This union was blessed with two children: Scott and Abby.  Jan and Rick’s married lifetime has been at Sioux Rapids and Cornell.  She began as a cook and promoted to head cook at the Sioux Central Schools from 1987 to 2011.  The past seven years she has been employed at Rembrandt Enterprises.

Jan enjoyed traveling and cooking and she cherished the times she could spend with her children and grandchildren.

Her life will always be loved and cherished by her family which include her husband: Rick, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, her children: Scott Knudtson of Cornell, Iowa and Abby Knudtson of Houston, Texas, her grandchildren: Allison, Rylie, Cole, Aiden, Ryan and Cruze, other extended family and many lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Linda and Sherry and two brothers: Doug and Scott.
