Glenice Koth, age 82, of Holstein, Iowa and formerly of Schaller and Marcus, Iowa died Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Center in Holstein.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Glenice Koth was born July 11, 1935 in Schaller, Iowa to Art and Dorothy (Anderson) Wilson. She attended school in Schaller. On May 16, 1954, Glenice was united in marriage to George Koth at the United Methodist Church in Schaller, Iowa and quickly became the busy parents of five children. The family resided in Lawton, Iowa for a number of years before George and Glenice purchased the Marcus News in 1971. After George purchased the Marcus News, Glenice quickly teamed up with her husband as the bookkeeper and co-editor where for numerous years they provided the town with their weekly news. Both George and Glenice decided to enjoy the retired life and sold their business in 1996. This allowed Glenice to focus more on her passions such as gardening, tending to her yard, frequenting garage sales, decorating her home, and visiting with friends over a good cup of coffee. Throughout the years, George and Glenice enjoyed traveling, dancing, entertaining in their home, and spending time at their cabin in Spirit Lake.

Glenice is survived by her son, Dan Koth of TX, and David Koth of IA; her sister, Cheryl of Schaller, sister, Doreen of Storm Lake, and Margie of Ida Grove. Glenice will also be cherished by her nine grandchildren, Alicia, Ashlie, Chris, Tony, Nick, Emily, Missy, Frederick and Albert; several great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends. Preceding Glenice in death is her husband, George; her parents, Art and Dorothy; daughter, Terri; daughter; Angela; son, Tom; and sisters, JoAnn and Bonnie.

Donations may be sent to Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
