Arnold "Arnie" E. Treinen, age 90, of Storm Lake, Iowa died on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Fonda Specialty Care in Fonda, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Iowa. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Arnold “Arnie” E. Treinen, died on Friday, May 25, 2018, at the Fonda Specialty Care in Fonda, Iowa.
Arnold Edmond Treinen, the son of Albert and Margaret (Deitrich) Treinen, was born at Remsen, Iowa, on December 17, 1927. He live his youth in Sioux Rapids and was a graduate of the Sioux Rapids High School in 1947. Arnie faithfully served his country as a corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War serving from September 17, 1950 until his honorable discharge on November 8, 1951.
On May 16, 1953, Arnie was united in marriage to Lois Ann Brummer at the St. John Lutheran parsonage in Storm Lake, Iowa, and the couple was blessed with one son, Mark. Arnie and Lois’ married lifetime has been spent in Storm Lake community. Arnie was a carpenter by trade and worked for Paul Parks Construction in Storm Lake and McHan Construction in Sioux City. Iowa.
Arnie was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Iowa. Special interests of Arnie’s included tending to his vegetable and flower gardens. He especially took great pride in his roses.
Arnie’s life is honored and cherished by his family which include his son and daughter-in-law: Mark and Julie Treinen of Albert City, Iowa, nieces, nephews, other extended family and his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, on August 13, 2017, his parents, one sister: Helen, and his brothers: James, Bernard and Joseph.
