Bruce Johnson, age 60, of Albert City, Iowa died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Memorial services will be held Friday, October 16, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Albert City, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City, Iowa. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements. Bruce DeWayne Johnson, son of Darwin and Dolores (Hansen) Johnson, was born September 1, 1949 in Fort Dodge, IA. He was a 1968 graduate of Albert City-Truesdale High School. He then attended Brown Institute of Broadcasting in Minneapolis. He worked in TV and radio throughout his career. He was married to Karen (Davis) Johnson in 1978 and later divorced and to this union 2 daughters were born, Bethany and Karla. Bruce enjoyed golf, following the Vikings and Twins, playing cards (rummy, pinochle, cribbage), and being with his children and grandchildren. His memory will be cherished by his parents Darwin and Dolores Johnson of Albert City, two daughters Bethany Johnson of Iowa City and Karla Johnson of Waterloo, his two grandchildren Hailey and Taylor Wilson of Waterloo, his brothers Lynn (Kim) Johnson of Albert City, Roger Johnson of Albert City, his sister Susan (Chris) Keyt of Van Meter, his nieces Becky Johnson of Albert City, Jessica Johnson of Albert City, Alison (Brad) Carlsen of Havelock, Megan Keyt of Ames, Abby Keyt of Van Meter, grandniece and grandnephew Crystal and Brandon Johnson of Albert City, and host of other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Arthur and Ruth Johnson and Harry and Clara Hansen.
