Linda (Cook) Peck, age 63, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Monday, September 10, 2007, at her home in Storm Lake.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 14, 2007, at 6:00 p.m. at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church at Storm Lake, Iowa. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery at Adel, Iowa, at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2007.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 13, 2007 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake with the family present during that time. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of arrangements.
Linda Sue Cook, the daughter of Alexander and Mildred (Harris) Cook, was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on July 19, 1944. Linda lived her youth and received her education at Adel, Iowa, graduating from the Adel Independent Schools in 1962.
Linda was blessed with three sons: Kevin, Ken, and J.C. She began her professional career as an event planner for the Sheraton Hotels and held that position for many years. In 1984, Linda moved to Storm Lake and while residing here she was employed as a cook with the Storm Lake Community Schools. She also had worked at the Lakeshore Café in Storm Lake.
Linda’s special interests included bowling, golfing, and most recently, creating various arts and crafts. She enjoyed following high school sports and was a Chicago Cubs fan. Linda’s children, grandchildren, and family were a very important part of her life and she treasured the times she could spend with them.
Those who will always cherish her memory include her children: Kevin and Kim Keller of Adel, Iowa; Ken and Toni Keller of Storm Lake, Iowa; J.C. Peck and his fiancée , Francesca, of Chicago, Illinois; her grandchildren: Kelsey, Anastacia, K.C., and Mike; two great-granddaughters: Shyan and Ava; her brother and sister-in-law, Don and Mary Jane Cook of Adel, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Mariah; and three brothers: Dick, Bill and Doug Cook.
