Leona E. Johnson, age 80, of Fort Dodge, Iowa and formerly of Albert City, Iowa, died Sunday, October 21, 2007 in Fort Dodge.
   
Services for Mrs. Johnson will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City. Reverend Chadric Dietrick from Trinity Lutheran Church in Knierim, Iowa will officiate. Burial will be in Fairfield Township Cemetery in rural Albert City. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.
   
Visitation will be held at the funeral home for one hour prior to service time on Wednesday.

Leona Elizabeth Georg was born December 19, 1926 in Knierim, Iowa, the daughter of Daniel and Josephine (Hammerle) Georg.  She was baptized as an infant at Trinity Lutheran Church in Knierim and later confirmed her faith at the same church as a youth. She attended grade school in Knierim before graduating from Manson High School in 1944.
  
Leona was joined in marriage to Lowell (Bud) Danielson on June 14, 1946. Bud died on April 2, 1957. On September 20, 1969, Leona was married to Albert E. Johnson. Albert passed away on September 30, 1983.  Leona was employed as a secretary at Superior Manufacturing in Albert City for many years.  For the past several years, she was a resident at U.S.A. Healthcare in Fort Dodge.  Leona will be remembered as a giving spirit, a kind and generous person. She will be dearly missed.
  
Left to cherish her memory are her step-daughter, Janice (Carroll) Harless of Iowa Falls, Iowa; one brother, Arnold (Sylvia) Georg of Austin, Minnesota; one sister, Donna (Stanley) Erickson of Marathon, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Mertie Georg or Algona, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Preceding Leona in death were her parents; her husbands; a sister, Dorothy Rude; and two brothers: Ernest Georg and Alvin Georg.
