Lorraine ClausenLorraine C. Clausen, age 84, of Albert City, Iowa, died on Monday, December 31, 2007, at the Pleasant View Home at Albert City.

Funeral services for Mrs. Clausen will be held Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in rural Albert City. Interment will be in the church cemetery under the direction of the Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City. Friends may call Friday, January 4, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City.

Lorraine Catherine Boettcher, the daughter of Helmuth and Ida (Hild) Boettcher, was born in rural Storm Lake, Iowa, on April 4, 1923.  Lorraine attended Zion Lutheran School through the eighth grade and continued her education at Albert City, where she graduated from Albert City High School in 1941.
  
Lorraine was united in marriage to Oscar Clausen on August 30, 1942, at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Storm Lake, Iowa. The couple was blessed with four sons: Dave, Tom, Jim, and Kent.  Lorraine and Oscar’s married lifetime was spent in Albert City.  She was a nurturing homemaker and will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. Oscar died on February 15, 1998.  Lorraine continued to make her home in Albert City, then became a resident at Pleasant View Home on August 1, 2001.  Lorraine was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, and had also enjoyed participating in various card clubs.  When her sons were growing up she was a den mother with the Cub Scouts. Lorraine’s special interests included baking, sewing, camping, traveling, and playing cards.
  
Lorraine’s memory will be cherished and honored by her children: Dave and Judy Clausen of Albert City;  Tom and Maureen Clausen of Albert City;  Jim and Ann Clausen of Glendale, Arizona; Kent and Deb Clausen of Albert City; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Lorenz (Bud) and Doris Boettcher of Alta, Iowa, and Lloyd and JoAnn Boettcher of Storm Lake; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Martha White of Newell, Iowa; Ruth and Milo Harpstead of Stevens Point, Wisconsin; and Carol and Ed Maas of Edgewood, New Mexico; other relatives and many friends.
  
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar; and a brother-in-law, Lyle White.
