Donna F. Combes
Services for Mrs. Combes will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Rembrandt. Burial will be at a later date in Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday until service time. Donna F. Crane, the daughter of Howard and Nina (Wagner) Crane, was born at Storm Lake, Iowa, on April 18, 1939. Donna lived her youth and received her education at Cherokee, Iowa, and was a graduate of the Cherokee High School. On October 4, 1957, Donna was united in marriage to Marlin (Tom) Combes at the First Baptist Church at Cherokee, Iowa, and this union was blessed with four children: Kim, Kent, Kelly and Kristi. Donna had been employed with the Wal-Mart organization for 17 years, serving in various job capacities. She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Rembrandt, Iowa. Donna was a very loving and giving person who valued life. Following her death, she extended the gift of life to people she will never know by being an organ and tissue donor. Donna enjoyed shopping, flowers, and gardening, but above all, she dearly loved her family and treasured the times she could spend with them creating many lasting memories. Those who will always cherish Donna’s memory include her husband, Tom Combes of Rembrandt, Iowa, her children: Kim Combes and his wife, Diane, of Colo, Iowa; Kent Combes and his wife, Lori, of Hartley, Iowa; Kris Combes of Rembrandt, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sister and husband, Cyndy and Ron Fetrow of Pocahontas, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kelly Combes; and one brother, Rodney Crane. Donna touched many people’s lives and she will be deeply missed. |
